SIPO published the statistics on patent applications and grants in China throughout 2014 recently. According to the statistics, SIPO received 2,361,243 patent applications during 2014. The details of the applications by patent type are as follows:
In addition, SIPO as a receiving office under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) received 26,169 international applications during the year (up 14.2%).
As for patent grants, a total of 1,302,687 patents were granted by SIPO in 2014, and the details of the grants by patent type are as follows:
